On Monday, January 21st, we are honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His "I Have a Dream" speech is one of the most important
speeches ever given in our country. Today we will read a new book that illustrates his speech as well as watch a video of his speech.

The big ideas of Dr. King's speech is that he wanted the area to be free so colored and not colored could unite and be one.

ReplyDeleteMartin Luther King's speech was trying to get at everyone should be treated fair and it's not right to judge. This speech is still important to us because he was the first to speak up.He was trying to tell people that white people and "colored" people are the same.
ReplyDeleteThe big idea of Dr. King's speech was to get people to understand that segregation was not fair and that everybody should be treated equally and fairly. I think it was so important to our country because Dr. King was very brave to go up and say a speech in front of many, many people. Also, his speech made a difference. People stopped treating black people differently and stopped segregating.

His speech was important because in history we were not very nice to colored people, now since he put a stop to segregation fairness has been spread around in many different ways.

What matters is that the black and white people don't segregate.What also matters is that were together and having a great time and to care about everyone not just about the color. I think it is important because if people don't let black and white people mix in people would feel left out and because they would not have the chance to meet each other.I think it should be aloud to mix in with other skin color. What matters is that we are together.
