Banned Books Week - Sept. 22-28, 2013!

Banned Books Week is one of my favorite celebrations of literature...not because we're banning books but because we are celebrating our FREEDOM to read. This week the 8th graders will check out some of the nation's most challenged books and think critically about these books' contribution to society. Before selecting their challenged books, I'm interested in their reaction to this powerful video by the independent bookstore Bookmans.
