Although most of us were hunkered down yesterday for the snow storm, exciting things were happening elsewhere. In Chicago, the American Library Association announced its annual awards for children's literature. I watched the live webcast from home! Here's a little peak at what was happening behind the scenes:
I am really excited to read The Crossover by Kwame Alexander with our 7th graders. It won the Newbery Medal and has been getting rave reviews. Plus, Mr. Alexander seems like a funny guy!
